Two Hands
About This Spot
Walking into Two Hands feels like stepping into a sunlit nook tucked just off the pulse of South Congress. It’s the kind of spot where the chatter is easy, the pace unhurried—even in its popular brunch hours—and the light filters softly through large windows, warming the natural wood and simple, modern décor. Whether it’s early morning or late afternoon, there’s a quiet energy that invites you to settle in, savor your moment, and enjoy a meal that feels thoughtfully prepared without any fuss.
The rhythm here encourages lingering conversations over coffee or a shared plate. A flat white or a matcha latte arrives with gentle precision, often accompanied by bites that balance comfort with freshness. You might find yourself drawn to vibrant bowls layered with wholesome grains and seasonal greens, or toast topped with perfectly ripe avocado that’s smashed just right. The kitchen takes care to present familiar flavors with subtle twists—bright, earthy, and occasionally a touch unexpected—encouraging you to explore beyond the usual brunch staples.
What stands out most is the atmosphere’s warmth—a mix of neighborhood familiarity and a slightly elevated approach to day-to-day dining. It’s the kind of place where locals slip in between errands, couples share a weekend treat, and parents bring kids who appreciate their own thoughtful plates. Amid the hum of conversations and the barista’s steamy craft, moments feel shared rather than hurried, making Two Hands a quietly joyful anchor in Austin’s vibrant landscape.

Service was a little slow but the salmon bowl was delicious. I wish more places would let you know the matcha is pre sweetened though. I’ve yet to find a good matcha in Austin. However, the salmon bowl is super perfect especially after an intense workout.

Good vibe about this place, food was tasty. My daughter and I got breakfast burritos- I added chorizo which was home made and delicious. My wife got the seasonal scramble- eggs and pesto were good but the toast was tough and hard to cut, which is one reason I’m giving it 4 instead of 5. The other is parking. Onsite was 22.00 an hour, and since it’s ACL parking was no where else to be found. It’s always hard to find a parking spot on South Congress, but I’ll go back sometime after ACL.

A casual and modern place. In general lots of healthy options. Special shoutout to the banana bread with espresso cream and the egg scramble toast—both were outstanding. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the flavors were spot-on.

Everything top notch! My husband and I love dining with Two hands for breakfast and brunch. The crispy fries with chilli oil is the best thing on the menu.

Such a cute and popular brunch spot! It’s not very big, so there was a bit of a wait — about 45 minutes for bar seating after asking for first available. Totally worth it though! The breakfast burrito was packed with flavor and came with an amazing side of sauce. They also have a coffee/espresso bar, and the barista recommended an iced latte with brown sugar syrup and cinnamon — so good! I’d definitely come back, even if there’s a wait, but honestly, I’d stop by just for the coffee!

Cool place with a nice patio and beautiful interior. I really enjoyed the Brekky Muffuletta with a scrambled egg. My friends got the Henry’s chicken sandwich and the steak/eggs and we were not so impressed. The berry smoothie I had was also really good. Pretty long wait at 2pm on a Sunday but we had a group of 10 so that’s fair. My one complaint: They really seem to nickel and dime you for everything here. Two little pieces of halloumi cheese for $7? They charged me a dollar to sub a sunny egg for scrambled eggs on the sandwich (was good though).

Two Hands on South Congress is an absolute must for brunch in Austin. I ordered the Big Brekky and it was outstanding from start to finish. The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked, the Two Hands hash brown was crispy and flavorful, and the roasted tomato added a great fresh balance. The toast with jam and butter was simple but done right, and adding the three crispy bacon strips was the best decision, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. On top of the food, their mocha coffee was amazing, rich, smooth, and the perfect complement to brunch. Great atmosphere, great food, and a spot I’ll definitely be coming back to.

Solid food; disappointing coffee. The breakfast burrito had everything you want in one, grilled tortilla, fluffy eggs and good salsa. I left two hands with a full belly and a smile on my face. I was told this place had the best coffee on south congress and I have to disagree. Had to ask the bartender for some sweetener, the coffee was almost bitter. We’ve had a subpar matcha from here before as well. Willing to give this place another shot though. Overall, super cute environment with a nice kitchen/ dining area for photo ops.
